輟哺（上轉劣反鄭注論語輟止也從車叕聲叕音同上下蒲慕反教孩子初喫食法許叔重曰口中嚼食與之也說文云哺咀也從口甫聲咀音秦與反）。

Cease feeding (輟哺: the first character has the fanqie 轉 + 劣. Zheng [Xuan's] commentary on the Analects says that chuò means to cease. It takes 車 as semantic classifier and 叕 as phonetic component; 叕 has the same pronunciation. The second character has the fanqie 蒲 + 慕. It refers to the method of teaching an infant to first eat food. Xu Shuzhong says: "Chewing food in one's mouth and giving it [to the child]." The Shuowen jiezi says: "Bǔ means to chew." It takes 口 as semantic classifier and 甫 as phonetic component; jǔ has the fanqie 秦 + 與).
