僅以（上音近廣雅云僅猶少也何休注公羊傳云僅劣也賈逵注國語云僅纔能也說文亦財能也從人堇聲堇音謹）。

僅以 (Only by means of; barely): The first character has the sound *jìn* [jǐn]. The *Guangya* states: '僅 (*jǐn*) means few or barely.' He Xiu's commentary on the *Gongyang zhuan* states: '僅 means inferior/scarce.' Jia Kui's commentary on the *Guoyu* states: '僅 means barely able.' The *Shuowen jiezi* also states: 'It means barely able; it is classified under the radical *rén* (person) with *jǐn* (堇) phonetic.' 堇 is pronounced *jǐn*.
