揜唱（上淹儼反毛詩傳云揜撫也字書作奄又從手作掩訓義同說文云揜覆斂也從手弇聲弇音同上也）。

To chant and sing (for the first [character 揜], y- + [y]an [yǎn]; the commentary to the Mao classic of Poetry says: “'Yan' means to stroke.” Character dictionaries give it as 奄, or following 手 (hand) as 掩, with the same gloss and meaning. The Shuowen says: “'Yan' means to cover and collect. It follows 手 (hand) with 弇 as its phonetic.” 弇 has the same pronunciation as above).
