放牧（莫祿反三蒼牧養也方言牧𩚅也郭璞曰謂牧養牛馬也漢書公孫弘牧豕然則牧者畜養之總名非止牛馬也）。

放牧 (fanqie: 莫 + 祿. The Sancang says: '牧 means to rear'. The Fangyan says: '牧 means to feed'. Guo Pu says: 'It refers to pasturing and rearing cattle and horses'. The Hanshu says that Gongsun Hong herded swine. Thus, 牧 is a general term for rearing livestock, not limited to cattle and horses).
