蚊蚋（而稅反小蚊曰蚋說文秦人謂之蚋楚人謂之蚊通俗文蜎化為蚊小蚊曰蚋蜎音血緣反）。

蚊蚋 (fanqie: 而 + 稅. Small mosquitoes are called 蚋. The Shuowen says: 'The people of Qin call them 蚋; the people of Chu call them 蚊'. The Tongsuwen says: 'Larvae (蜎) transform into mosquitoes; small mosquitoes are called 蚋'. 蜎 is pronounced in fanqie: 血 + 緣).
