廬館(力居反別舍也釋名云寄止曰廬案黃帝為廬以避寒暑春秋去之冬夏居之故云寄止也下古翫反客舍也周禮五十里有館館有委積以待朝聘之客字體從食官聲今俗亦作舘經文作觀城門雙闕也觀非此義也)。

廬館 [hut and lodge]: [The first character is pronounced with the] fanqie 力居 (lǘ). It is a secondary lodging. The Shiming says: "A temporary dwelling is called a 廬." Checking this, the Yellow Emperor made a hut (廬) to avoid the heat and cold, leaving it in spring and autumn, and dwelling in it in winter and summer; hence it is called a "temporary dwelling." The second character is [pronounced with the] fanqie 古翫 (guàn). It is a guesthouse. The Rites of Zhou says: "Every fifty leagues there is a lodge (館), and the lodge has stored provisions to accommodate guests arriving for court audiences and diplomatic missions." The proper form of the character takes 食 as radical and 官 as phonetic; popular usage now also writes it 舘. The scripture text has 觀, which refers to the twin gate-towers of a city wall; 觀 does not carry this meaning.
