拊撫（方主反下敷禹反案拊猶拍也撫持也案也存恤也釋名云撫敷也敷手以拍之）。

拊撫 (To pat and soothe: [拊 is] *fang-zhu* fanqie [fǔ]; below [撫 is] *fu-yu* fanqie [fǔ]; according to [the glossaries], 拊 is like clapping/tapping, 撫 is to hold, to press, to comfort and show solicitude. The Shiming says: '撫 means to spread out; spreading the hand to pat.')
