項很（胡講反謂很人強項難迴因以名也即郁伽羅越問經云強項人無量清淨平等覺經云項很愚癡是也大品經中作增上慢經文有從元作頑音五鰥反頑鈍也頑非本字也）。

Xianghen 項很 (fanqie: 胡講; refers to a stubborn person who is stiff-necked and hard to turn around, hence named on this basis. Namely, the Yougaluoyue wen jing says 'stiff-necked person', and the Wuliang qingjing pingdengjue jing says 'stiff-necked and foolish'; in the Dapin jing it is written as 'excessive pride' [adhimāna]. In some sūtra texts it is written with the phonetic component yuan 元 as wan 頑, pronounced wu-guan; wan 頑 means dull and blunt, but wan is not the original character).
