基蹠（上紀其反爾疋基始也本也下趾也從土其聲下征亦反王注楚辭云蹠踐也許叔重云行也蹈也廣疋履也傳文從土作墌墌亦基也或作趾並通）。

基蹠 [Foundation] (The first character has the fanqie jì + qí. The *Erya* states: "*Ji* means beginning; foundation." The lower part is *zhǐ* (foot). It is formed with 'earth' and has 其 as phonetic. The second character has the fanqie zhēng + yì. Wang [Yi]'s commentary on the *Chuci* states: "*Zhi* means to step upon." Xu Shuzhong [Xu Shen] says: "To walk; to tread." The *Guangya* states: "To tread upon." In the transmission of the text it is written with 'earth' as 墌; 墌 also means foundation; writing it as 趾 is also acceptable).
