Curled and cramped (踡跼; the first character is juàn-yuán fan [quán]. The Picang says: 'Quánjú means bent and unable to stretch.' A character dictionary says: 'Walking awkwardly with a hunched back.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Derived from zú 足 [foot] with juǎn 卷 as phonetic.' The second character is pronounced jú [jú]. The Guangya says: 'Jú means stumbling (jié 跲).' Jié 跲 is qián-jié fan [jié]. Gu Yewang says: 'Quánjú means bent and unable to stretch out.' It is also written as jú 局 with the same usage; the transmission writing it with zú 足 is also acceptable).
