Praising goodness (稱𧨅; pronounced shàn [shàn]. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Auspicious; beautiful.' The Shuowen jiezi has it derived from yáng 羊 [sheep] and jìng 競; seal script derives it from yáng 羊 [sheep] and yán 言 [speech]. The transmission writing it with cǎo 草 [grass] and yán 言 [speech] is incorrect and does not form a character).
