㥏𭟓（上天典反方言㥏慙也秦晉之間謂內心慙恥曰㥏說文亦慚也從心典聲下音墨應劭注漢書云嘿嘿不息得意顧野王云不言也說文從犬作默云大慙逐人從犬黑聲傳文從心作𭟓非也無此字）。

㥏𭟓 (The upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 天典 [tiǎn]. The Fangyan says: "㥏 means ashamed; between Qin and Jin, being inwardly ashamed and humiliated is called 㥏." The Shuowen also says it means ashamed; it takes 心 as radical and 典 as phonetic. The lower character has the sound 墨 [mò]. Ying Shao's commentary to the Hanshu says: "嘿嘿 [mèmè] describes not resting, or being self-satisfied." Gu Yewang says: "Not speaking." The Shuowen writes it with 犬 as radical as 默, saying: "Chasing someone in great shame; it takes 犬 as radical and 黑 as phonetic." In the text of the transmission, it is written with 心 as 𭟓, which is incorrect; there is no such character.)
