芟足（上沙咸反毛詩傳曰以刀芟草也說文刈草也從草從殳下精裕反韻英添下假借字也）。

芟足 (The upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 沙咸 [shān]. The Mao commentary to the Shijing says: "To cut grass with a blade." The Shuowen says: "To mow grass; it takes 草 as radical and 殳 as phonetic." The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie 精裕 [zù]. The Yunying says it means to supplement; it is a phonetic loan character.)
