糇粒 (dry provisions and grain: the first character is a fanqie of 候 and 溝 [hóu]; the Shuowen writes it with 食 as 餱; the Wenzi jilüe states: '餱 means dry food.' The Kaosheng writes it as 糇, stating: 'It means provisions.' The second character is pronounced lì; Kong's commentary to the Shangshu states: 'Grain eaten as rice is called 粒.' The Shuowen states: '粒 means grains of rice;' it has semantic 米 and phonetic 立; 'grains' (糂) is a fanqie of 三 and 敢; the ancient script writes it with 食 as 𩚷, with the same sound as above).
