Boarding an ocean vessel (乘舶, the second character is pronounced like 白; a large ship on the ocean, constructed by joining squared timber; because thin planks cannot endure huge waves, they are lashed together with ropes made of coconut husk without using iron nails, fearing friction would produce fire; crewed by a thousand people, a massive ship a hundred fathoms long).
