Awe-filled bosom (凜懷: the upper character has the fanqie lin-jin [lǐn]. The Kaosheng says: '凜 means reverence and fear; an awakening of mind.' The Picang says: '懍 means trembling with cold and fear.' The Gujin zhengzi says: 'It is derived from "ice" [仌/冫] and phonetic bing [稟].' The lower character has the fanqie huai-guai [huái]. The Lunyu says: '懷 means tranquility.' The Yunying says: 'To long for; to think of.' The Shuowen says: 'It is derived from "heart" [心] and phonetic huai [褱].' The pronunciation is the same as the above fanqie).
