Gentry officials (縉紳: the upper character is pronounced jin [jìn]; the lower character is pronounced shen [shēn]. In our view, the jinshen refers to the broad sash [大帶], made of reddish-white color; in ancient times it was an honorable ornament of robes and caps, used to tuck tablets into for recording affairs).
