慰賻（符付反與附同音鄭注周禮云謂贈喪家死衣助不足也歸死者曰𮚐歸生者曰賻𮚐音豊諷反說文從貝尃聲）。

慰賻 'Condolence and funeral gift' (The fanqie is [符付, *bjuH*], homophonous with 附. Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary to the Rites of Zhou states: 'This refers to presenting funeral gifts to the mourning family—clothing for the deceased, assisting their insufficiencies. What is sent to the deceased is called 𮚐, and what is sent to the living is called 賻.' 𮚐 has the fanqie [豊諷, *pjuwngH*]. The Shuowen notes it derives from [the radical] 'cowrie' and has the sound 尃).
