Counting beads with fingertips (掐珠: the first character is fanqie kou + jia [qiā]. Jia [Kui]'s commentary on the Guoyu says: "Qia (掐) means to snap/pinch." The Kaosheng says: "Counting rosary beads with one's fingernails." The Shuowen says: "Formed from 手 (hand), 爪 (claw), and 臼; it is an ideogram").
