褊淺（上鞭沔反郭璞注爾雅云褊急也說文云褊小也從衣扁聲扁邊辮反傳文從犬作猵非也考聲云褊狹也衣小也或作𱜯也）。

Narrow and shallow (褊淺: the first character is fanqie bian + mian [biǎn]. Guo Pu's commentary on the Erya says: "Bian (褊) means urgent/tight." The Shuowen says: "Bian means small; it is formed from [the radical] 衣 (clothing) with 扁 as phonetic; 扁 is fanqie bian + bian [biǎn]." The transmission's text writes it with 犬 (dog) as 猵, which is incorrect. The Kaosheng says: "Bian means narrow; tight clothing." It is also written as 𱜯).
