The transmitted text writing with the 'tongue' radical as 甜 does not have the original meaning; it was already explained in the Bianzheng lun. The Shuowen jiezi has it with the 'ear' radical and 冄, which is the correct form; sometimes written with the 'body' radical as 𨈜).
