鄙𨛋（上悲美反杜注左傳云鄙野也史記云陋也王逸注楚辭云小也說文從邑[圖-囗]聲[圖-囗]音同上下梨耳反何休注公羊傳云野猶鄙也故漢書云質而不𨛋如淳注云間里之鄙言也說文從邑里聲傳文從人作俚俗用字也）。

bili 鄙𨛋 (The first character has the fanqie bei + mei [b-]. Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: "Bi means rustic." The Shiji says: "Lowly." Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: "Small." The Shuowen says it takes the city radical and has [圖-囗] as phonetic; [圖-囗] has the same sound as above. The second character has the fanqie li + er [l-]. He Xiu's commentary on the Gongyang zhuan says: "Rustic is like vulgar." Hence the Hanshu says: "Plain and not vulgar." Ru Chun's commentary says: "The rustic language of village lanes."
