刊石 ('carving stone': the first character has the fanqie 渴安 [kě + ān]. Du Yu's commentary to the Zuozhuan says: '刊 means to cut away or determine.' Zheng's commentary to the Liji says: 'It means to pare.' The Shuowen says: 'It is derived from 刀 (knife) and 干').
