鐙王（上等能反聲類云無足曰鐙說文鐙錠也從金登聲也從火作燈俗字也錠音丁佞反）。

鐙王 ('Lamp King'; the first character has the fanqie 等 + 能 [dēng]. The Shenglei says: 'That which has no feet is called deng.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'A deng is a ding (a footless sacrificial vessel); composed with "metal" (金) as semantic element and 登 as phonetic element.' Writing it with "fire" (火) as 燈 is a popular character form. Ding has the fanqie 丁 + 佞 [dìng].)
