Duckweed and southernwood (蘋蘩; the upper character is pronounced pín; the Mao Commentary on the Classic of Poetry states: 'Large duckweed.' The lower character is pronounced fán; the Mao Commentary on the Classic of Poetry states: 'White southernwood.' The Gujin zhengzi states: 'Both characters have the radical 艸 (grass) and the phonetics 頻 and 繁.' 皤 is pronounced pó).
