屬纊（上鍾辱反說文云屬連也從尾蜀聲集本從尸作屬通用也下音曠鄭注禮記云纊綿也言新綿易動屬於病者之口以候氣也說文從糸廣聲也）。

Applying floss (屬: fanqie 鍾辱 [zhǔ]. The Shuowen jiezi says: "屬 means to connect; composed of 尾 with 蜀 phonetic." Collected editions have it under 尸 as 屬, which is interchangeable. The lower graph is pronounced 曠 [kuàng]. Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the Liji says: "纊 is raw floss. Newly flossed silk stirs easily; it is placed at the mouth of the sick to watch for their breathing." The Shuowen jiezi states: "Composed of 糸 with 廣 phonetic").
