翱翔 [soaring and hovering] (The upper character is pronounced with the fanqie áo + gāo; the lower is pronounced with the fanqie xiàng + yáng. Mao's commentary on the Shijing says: "Áoxiáng is like wandering at leisure." Zheng says: "Carefree roaming." Guo Pu says: "A bird flying with spread wings." The Shuowen says: "Flying in circles. Both characters take the feather radical, with gāo and yáng both phonetic." The collected edition writes 𦒡, which is vulgar.)
