査[槮-(彰-章)+小]（上乍加反毛詩傳云查水中浮草木也古今正字從木且聲亦作槎集本作渣非也下所錦反尒疋云[槮-(彰-章)+小]謂之涔郭注云今之作[槮-(彰-章)+小]叢積此積柴於水中魚得而入其裏藏因捕取之說文積柴捕魚名[栗-木+林]音力今反）。

査[槮-(彰-章)+小]: The first character has the fanqie phonetic notation zha (乍) + jia (加). The Mao Commentary to the Shijing states: '査 refers to floating grass and wood in the water.' The Gujin zhengzi states: 'Analyzed as following the semantic component "wood" (木) and the phonetic component qie (且). It is also written as 槎.' The collected editions write it as 渣, which is incorrect. The second character has the fanqie phonetic notation suo (所) + jin (錦). The Erya states: '[槮-(彰-章)+小] is called cen (涔).' Guo's commentary states: 'Those who make [槮-(彰-章)+小] nowadays bundle brushwood; this is piling brushwood in the water so fish may enter and hide inside, whereupon they catch them.' The Shuowen jiezi states: 'Brushwood piled up to catch fish is called [栗-木+林]; it has the fanqie phonetic notation li (力) + jin (今).'
