褊隘（鞭緬反廣雅云褊狹也楚辭智淺褊能也說文從衣扁扁亦聲集從犬作猵誤）。

"Narrow and cramped" (褊隘): [褊 is pronounced with the fanqie] bian + mian (bian). The Guangya says: 'Bian (褊) means narrow.' The Chuci says: 'Small of wit and shallow in capacity.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'It has the clothing radical (衣) and bian (扁), with bian also acting as the phonetic.' The compiled text mistakenly writes it with the dog radical (犬) as bian (猵).
