懍厲（臨甚反孔注尚書云懍危懼貌也古今正字從心稟聲稟音筆錦反）。

Stern and awe-inspiring (懍厲): [懍 is] fanqie 臨甚. Kong's commentary to the Shangshu says: '懍 is an appearance of fearful apprehension.' The Gujin zhengzi: 'It takes 心 as semantic classifier and 稟 as phonetic.' 稟 has the sound of fanqie 筆錦.
