Hawks and falcons (鷹鸇): The first character [鷹 is] fanqie 臆令; sometimes written as 雁. The second character [鸇 is] fanqie 淅然. Guo's commentary to the Erya says: '鸇 is of the sparrowhawk genus.' The Shuowen says: 'It takes 鳥 as semantic classifier and 亶 as phonetic.' 亶 has the sound of 且.
