煨𱫮（上猥回反廣雅煨猶煨熅也下似進反杜注左傳云𱫮火餘也唐御製孝經序云煨燼之未也說文煨從火畏聲燼正作𱫮集作燼俗字）。

Cinders and ashes (煨𱫮: the first [character is pronounced] wei + hui fan; the Guangya says that wei (煨) is like smoldering ashes. The second is si + jin fan; Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says that jin (𱫮) means the remnants of a fire; the Tang imperial preface to the Xiaojing says, 'before turning to cinders and ashes'; the Shuowen jiezi says that wei is composed of 'fire' [火] with wei [畏] phonetic; jin is correctly written 𱫮, while the compiled text writes the popular character 燼).
