Hastily / suddenly (遽然: [the first character is pronounced] qu + ju fan; Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says that ju (遽) is like fearing; the Kaosheng says it is correctly written 遽; the compiled text writes 懅, which is a popular variant used in the sūtras).
