棨戟（溪禮反考聲棨兵欄也形似戟有幡上有書吏執以為信韋昭注漢書云棨亦戟也說文謂傳信也從木啟省聲也）。

棨戟 (fanqie: 溪 + 禮. The Kaosheng says: 'A qi (棨) is a weapon barrier; shaped like a halberd with banners and writing upon it, which officials hold as credentials.' Wei Zhao's commentary to the Hanshu says: 'A qi is also a halberd.' The Shuowen says: 'Refers to a tally of authority; it has the wood radical and abbreviated qi phonetic').
