玉槹（槀敖反莊子有棫於此鑿水為機後重前輕楔水若流其名為橰也說文從木皐聲皐從[(犀-尸)-牛+十]從白楔音堅節反埤蒼楔橰所以汲水也集作皐非義也）。

玉槹 (fanqie: 槀 + 敖. Zhuangzi says: 'There is a machine here, carved of wood as an apparatus, heavy behind and light before; it scoops up water like a flowing stream; its name is the well-sweep (gao).' The Shuowen says: 'It has the wood radical and gao phonetic.' Gao is composed of [(犀-尸)-牛+十] and bai. Xie is fanqie: 堅 + 節. The Picang says: 'A well-sweep (gao) is used to draw water.' The collected text writes it as 皐, which does not fit the sense).
