螺蚳 (Ant eggs: the first is *luó* [fanqie: 力和]; the second is *chí* [fanqie: 直離]. The *Rites of Zhou* states: "For sacrifices, ant eggs are supplied to the sauce preparers." Zheng Zhong's commentary states: "*Chí* are ant eggs." The *Shuowen jiezi* notes it is classified under 'insect' (虫) with 氐 as phonetic; 氐 is pronounced *dī*).
