Solitary fledgling (孤鶵) (chu pronounced with the fanqie 仕瑜 [shì + yú = chú]: Guo [Pu]'s commentary to the Erya says, "A bird that can feed itself from birth is called a chu (雛)." The Shuowen notes it is sometimes written with the radical 隹 as 雛; the Collected [Edition] writes it as 鶵, which is a vulgar character).
