Thickets and rank grass (蓁芿) (the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 櫛巾 [zhì + jīn = zhēn]: the commentary to the Mao Poetry says, "蓁蓁 describes the luxuriant growth of grass." The Guangya says, "Luxuriant." The Wenzi dian shuo says it is classified under the radical 草 with 秦 as its phonetic. The second character is pronounced with the fanqie 仍證 [réng + zhèng = rèng]: the Kaosheng says, "Dense grass left uncut."
