紅莓（梅軰反許叔重法淮南子云莓實似桑葚生江濱蒼頡篇可食也郭注爾雅云即藨音皮表反莓也子似𧄏葐而大赤醋甜可食說文馬莓也或作[菁-月+毌]也）。

Red raspberries (紅莓) (mei pronounced with the fanqie 梅軰 [méi + bèi = mèi]: Xu Shuzhong's commentary to the Huainanzi says, "The fruit of the mei resembles mulberries and grows along river banks." The Cang Jie pian says, "It is edible." Guo [Pu]'s commentary to the Erya says, "It is the biao (藨, pronounced 皮表 [pí + biǎo = biǎo]) or raspberry; its berries resemble those of the rubus (dupen) but are larger, red, sweet and sour, and edible." The Shuowen says, "The horse-raspberry (mamei)." It is also written as [菁-月+毌]).
