縹瞥（上漂眇反下偏滅反王逸注楚辭云縹謂視彗星光瞥瞥也說文縹青白色從糸票聲瞥謂纔見也從目敝聲票音疋消反）。

Glimpsing a faint gleam (縹瞥: the upper character has [fanqie] 漂眇; the lower character has [fanqie] 偏滅. Wang Yi's Commentary on the Chuci says: "Piao (縹) refers to watching the flashing light of a comet." The Shuowen jiezi says: "Piao means a pale blue-white colour. Semantic with silk [糸] and phonogram piao (票). Pie (瞥) means catching a fleeting glimpse. Semantic with eye [目] and phonogram bi (敝)." Piao (票) has the sound [fanqie] 疋消).
