Emitted from between the eyebrows a white ūrṇā-hair (fang meijian baihao): (hu + dao [háo]). The commentary on the Zhuangzi says: "The finest of hairs is called hao." The Yupian says: "A hao is a long hair." The Sūtra on the Samādhi of the Contemplation of the Buddha states that when he was the crown prince it stretched out to five feet long; beneath the [bodhi] tree it was one zhang, four feet, and five inches long; and upon becoming a Buddha it was one zhang and five feet long. When released, it curls in a circle like the autumn full moon, distinct, bright, and pure, its color resembling mother-of-pearl and snow.
