俳優（上敗埋反博雅云俳亦優也說文云戲也從人非聲也下於尤反顧野王云優樂人所為戲笑杜注左傳云調戲也蒼頡篇云優亦樂也說文云從人憂聲也）。

俳優 [actors and entertainers] (The upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 敗埋 [pái]. The Boya says: “A 俳 is also an entertainer (優).” The Shuowen jiezi says: “An actor/play; formed from 人 [person] with 非 as the phonetic element.” The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie 於尤 [yōu]. Gu Yewang says: “The jesting and humor performed by musical performers.” Du [Yu]'s commentary to the Zuo zhuan says: “To jest and tease.” The Cangjie pian says: “優 also means music/entertainment.” The Shuowen jiezi says: “Formed from 人 [person] with 憂 as the phonetic element”).
