不瞚(下水閏反說文云瞚謂目開闔數搖動也從目寅亦聲也俗作瞬古文作眒今經文從目旬作眴亦通魯史春秋云萬世猶如一眴也)。

Unblinking (不瞚: the lower character has the fanqie 水閏. The Shuowen says: "Shùn means the eyes repeatedly opening, closing, and fluttering. Formed with [the semantic element] mù (目) and also phonetic yín (寅)." Colloquially written as 瞬, in ancient script as 眒. In the present sūtra text it is written with 'eye' (目) and xún (旬) as 眴, which is also acceptable. The Lu Annals of the Spring and Autumn says: "Ten thousand generations are like a single blink of an eye (眴)").
