啄噉(上音卓廣雅云啄嚙也說文云鳥喰也從口豕聲也豕音丑綠反經文從彖作喙音吁穢反鳥口也非此義下唐濫反噉亦食也或作啖亦同)。

Pecking and devouring (啄噉: the first character has the pronunciation 卓 [zhuó]. The Guangya says: "To peck (啄) means to bite." The Shuowen says: "Birds feeding." It is formed from 口 (mouth) with 豕 as the phonetic component. 豕 has the fanqie 丑綠 [chù]. In the sūtra text it is written with 彖 as 喙, with the fanqie 吁穢 [huì], which means a bird's bill; that is not the meaning here. The second character has the fanqie 唐濫 [dàn]. Devouring (噉) also means eating; it is also written as 啖, which is the same).
