皐繇（上古勞反下音姚尚書皐陶為帝舜謀古文作[名*卜]繇二形今作皐陶二形說文從白[(犀-尸)-牛+十]聲今或從自非也[(犀-尸)-牛+十]音滔案皐陶即舜之臣也）。

Gao Yao 皐繇 (The first character has the fanqie phonetic spelling [g- + -áo > g-] gǔ láo 反. The second character has the sound yáo 姚. The Shangshu states that Gao Yao made plans for Emperor Shun; ancient script texts write it as the two forms [名*卜] and 繇, whereas modern texts write them as Gao Yao 皐陶. The Shuowen jiezi says: "It takes 白 with [(犀-尸)-牛+十] as the phonetic; now some write it with 自, which is incorrect." [(犀-尸)-牛+十] has the sound tāo 滔. Note: Gao Yao was Shun's minister).
