狡猾（上古巧反切韻云疾也說文云狂也從犬交聲下戶八反尚書云蠻夷猾夏孔傳云猾亂也說文云從犬骨亦聲也）。

Cunning and treacherous (狡猾: the first character is [pronounced with the fanqie] gu + qiao; the Qieyun says it means "swift"; the Shuowen says it means "wild/mad," formed from dog [犬] with jiao as phonetic; the second character is [pronounced with the fanqie] hu + ba; the Shangshu says: "The barbarian tribes disturbed the central realm [猾夏]"; Kong's commentary says that hua means "to disrupt"; the Shuowen says it is formed from dog [犬] with gu also serving as phonetic).
