欄楯（上落干反慈恩音義云鉤欄也或作闌說文云門遮也下食尹反說文云楯欄檻也王逸注楚辭云檻楯也縱曰檻橫曰楯字從木盾聲也）。

Balustrades and railings (欄楯: the first character has the fanqie 落 + 干; Cien's Pronunciation and Meaning says, “Hooked balustrade.” It is also written 闌. Shuowen says, “A gate screen.” The second character has the fanqie 食 + 尹; Shuowen says, “Shǔn is a balustrade or railing.” Wang Yi's commentary to Chu ci says, “Kǎn is shǔn; vertical ones are kǎn, horizontal ones are shǔn. The character takes 木 with 盾 for phonetic”).
