髫齔（上音條考聲云小兒剃頭留兩邊也字書曰髫小兒垂髮也從髟召聲下初覲反鄭注周禮云男八歲女七歲即毀齒說文從齒七聲或從匕乚作齔齔二形皆非本字也）。

髫齔 (infancy and childhood: the first character is pronounced 條 [*tiáo*]; the Kaosheng states: “A young child having their head shaved while leaving hair on both sides.” Character dictionaries say: “髫 refers to a child's hanging hair.” It is classified under 髟 with 召 phonetic. The second character is *ch[ū]-j[ìn]* fan; Zheng's commentary on the Rites of Zhou states: “A boy at eight years old and a girl at seven years old shed their baby teeth.” The Shuowen jiezi states that it is classified under 齒 [teeth] with 七 phonetic; forms written with 匕 or 乚 as 齔 or 齔 are neither the original character).
