廛店（上直連反居也考聲云市空地曰廛下都念反切韻店舍也崔豹古今注云店置也所以置貨鬻也從广占聲也广音儼形聲字也鬻音揚菊反）。

廛店 (The first character is pronounced 直 + 連 fanqie: to reside. The Kaosheng says: 'An open plot in a marketplace is called a chan.' The second character is pronounced 都 + 念 fanqie. The Qieyun says: 'An inn or shop.' Cui Bao's Gujin zhu says: 'Dian means to arrange, that is, the place where goods are displayed for sale.' It takes 广 as semantic and 占 as phonetic; 广 is pronounced 儼, forming a phono-semantic compound. 鬻 is pronounced 揚 + 菊 fanqie).
