理翮（上良始反字書云通也切韻料理也說文云從玉里聲下行格反顧野王云鳥羽翮也說文從羽鬲聲鬲音革也）。

Preening the quills (理翮: the first character has the fanqie 良 + 始; the character dictionary says, “To smooth out.” Qieyun says, “To arrange and tend to.” Shuowen says, “It takes 玉 with 里 for phonetic.” The second character has the fanqie 行 + 格; Gu Yewang says, “The quills of bird feathers.” Shuowen says, “It takes 羽 with 鬲 for phonetic; 鬲 is pronounced 革”).
